Russell has been involved in private, professional and collegiate athletics for almost 25 years. He brings a wealth of knowledge in a variety of sports performance backgrounds. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, he joined the New York Yankees as a minor league athletic trainer. During the course of his 11 year stay with the Yankees, he was promoted to the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning. In 2004, Russell joined the strength and conditioning staff at Florida State University, where he coordinated the training efforts for the Seminole Baseball team and the adaptive protocols for the injured football athletes. Russell joined EXOS in 2007 as the Performance Manager for the facility located at the Andrew’s Institute in Gulf Breeze Florida. Currently he is the Vice President of Performance working to develop the next layer of leadership and coaches. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, as well as being a licensed Massage Therapist.
